From doing this task i have realised the importance of a good website as it has to represent the artist and their genre. It has to be easy to use and the navigation bar should be easily accessible to be able to navigate the website and view all the pictures and information included. The main role of the website is to give information about the artist and the music they produced and also any upcoming or future events however it also has to be eye catching and appeal to the key demographic. I have noticed the difference in websites between different genres e.g. pop and alternative music and the different colour schemes and layouts they use.
Secondly, from doing this task I learnt about what codes and conventions are used in a music website for example, target audience, layout and genre codes. This will be useful when i come to make my own music video as it will be useful to know what sort of themes are used in the branding of different t genres and artists and i could therefore tailer the themes in my own video to conform to the themes used in the websites to increase how professional my own video looks.
