Photoshoot Permission

Photoshoot Permission

Me and my partner wrote an email to the photography teacher at our school to check whether the photography room would be available for us to do a shoot for our digipak and poster with our actor. We also arranged with one of our friend who does photography to come with us so that they were able to help us set up the lighting for our shoot.

Task 24: Photoshoot Planning

Photoshoot Planning

These are some contact sheets of photoshoots we did with our main actor/artist, Jack. We did this to test our different lighting we could use for our digipak shoot and also when filming our video.

Locations

LOCATION SHOTS

Me and my partner Imy spent a few hours travelling to different location we thought about filming in and getting a better idea of they're like and how easy it would be to film there and how each the shots would look. This was extremely useful to as we were able to try our different shot ideas and techniques for example quick cuts and time lapses ad also gave us a better idea of which locations are best what sort of things we can use them for.

This is an idea of an edit we could include our video in one of chosen locations.

Time lapse edits

This is an edit Imy did of all the different locations and techniques we tried out and want to include.

Task 20: Location Permission

Emailing Cattle Country

When thinking about locations we decided that cattle country would be ideal as there is large open spaces a that are free from light pollution which would make our shots clearer and enhance our video. There are also lots of different facilities there and we would be able to get lots of footage in different location around the park. Cattle Country is an adventure park with lots We were particularly interested in the death slide as we wanted to get different shots going down it as we think it will work well in our video. We decided to email Cattle Country to see if we would be allowed to film there and if we were when would suit them best.

Task 16: Genre Research

Genre Research

From doing this task I was able to study pop genre in more detail and get further insight into the codes and conventions of pop genre music videos. This was extremely valuable for when creating my own video as I have more knowledge of what to include in my video and how to make it look more like an authentic pop video that could really be being released. I found out about common editing techniques that were used and popular camera angles and also about whether video's were mainly narrative and performance or both which I will again consider when making my own video.

Task 15: Video And Lyrics

Lyrics
I got this feeling inside my bones
It goes electric, wavey when I turn it on
All through my city, all through my home
We're flying up, no ceiling, when we in our zone
I got that sunshine in my pocket
Got that good soul in my feet
I feel that hot blood in my body when it drops
I can't take my eyes up off it, moving so phenomenally
Room on lock, the way we rock it, so don't stop
And under the lights when everything goes
Nowhere to hide when I'm getting you close
When we move, well, you already know
So just imagine, just imagine, just imagine
Nothing I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance
A feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
All those things I shouldn't do
But you dance, dance, dance
And ain't nobody leaving soon, so keep dancing
I can't stop the feeling
So just dance, dance, dance
I can't stop the feeling
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
Ooh, it's something magical
It's in the air, it's in my blood, it's rushing on
I don't need no reason, don't need control
I fly so high, no ceiling, when I'm in my zone
'Cause I got that sunshine in my pocket
Got that good soul in my feet
I feel that hot blood in my body when it drops
I can't take my eyes up off it, moving so phenomenally
Room on lock, the way we rock it, so don't stop
Under the lights when everything goes
Nowhere to hide when I'm getting you close
When we move, well, you already know
So just imagine, just imagine, just imagine
Nothing I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
All those things I shouldn't do
But you dance, dance, dance
And ain't nobody leaving soon, so keep dancing
I can't stop the feeling
So just dance, dance, dance
I can't stop the feeling
So just dance, dance, dance
I can't stop the feeling
So just dance, dance, dance
I can't stop the feeling
So keep dancing, come on
I can't stop the, I can't stop the
I can't stop the, I can't stop the
I can't stop the feeling
Nothing I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance (I can't stop the feeling)
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on (I can't stop the feeling)
All those things I shouldn't do
But you dance, dance, dance (I can't stop the feeling)
And ain't nobody leaving soon, so keep dancing
Everybody sing (I can't stop the feeling)
Got this feeling in my body (I can't stop the feeling)
Got this feeling in my body (I can't stop the feeling)
Wanna see you move your body (I can't stop the feeling)
Got this feeling in my body
Break it down
Got this feeling in my body
Can't stop the feeling
Got this feeling in my body, come on

Task 14: Thinking Of A Concept

INITIAL IDEAS

Video's we like:

Idea's For Our Own Video

Learning Comment:
From doing this i have been able to write down all of our idea's for our video and look more in-depth at our favourite ones. We have thought a lot about how to make our video entertaining and interesting by thinking about different locations and camera angles that could be used. We have also thought about what songs we like and what style of music video we like best which has helped us to narrow down the videos and decide on a genre for our own video. Furthermore, we have been able to use the finding from the survey and previous research tasks to influence our idea's of what to include in our own video for example we would like to include both narrative and performance within the video as that was the most popular option in the video as we feel this will help to make our video more appealing to the demographic. This will also help us in the future when we come to start filming as we will be able to look back on our original idea's to make sure we include everything we want to within our video and will also help us within any further planning and resource to use for idea's and checking.

Task 12: Re-format Digipak

Digipack Practise

Full Digipack
This is the digipack I made for the band 'Train' using images of the artists from google and some of my own image i found on google based on their single 'Play That Song'. I used different techniques on photoshop to create each individual part of the didipack and the overall display of the digpack as a whole.

How I Got To My Final Result:

Learning Comment:

From doing this research into what goes into making a full digipack I learnt how much work goes into and all the different compartments of a digipack. For example thinking of Idea's and editing techniques for each compartment was quite challenging as I wanted to make the digipack interesting eye catching however I also wanted there to be continuity throughout so it didn't look disjointed and random. I wanted to use lots of different techniques to make a more complex design and make the overall product more interesting. Furthermore, It has also helped me to work out the sizes on photoshop and how to make the sizes equal to all fit in a full digipack and to all be the same size. I feel this has been good practice and will help when I come to make my own digipack for my music video artist and I feel that from doing this I'll be able to create an overall better digipack.

Learning Comment:
From practicing different photoshop techniques I feel I have been able to enhance my skills and create more advanced outcomes which will make my whole digipack look more interesting and appeal to the demographic more. I've learnt lots of techniques I can include within my own digipack to make it look more professional and how to use photoshop to a more full capacity and use it in a better way to create different outcomes.

Task 8: Part 3

Task 8: Part 3

Powered by emaze

From doing this task I learnt what people thought of previous student video's and what they thought worked well and elements that they didn't like or thought didn't work as well. I was able to get feed back from different ages as well as I used varied ages within my focus group therefore was able to see a what wider range of the demographic would think of my video by seeing what they thought of previous ones. I am also able to tailer my video to what I have found out from doing this interview with my focus group as I an now see what people liked and didn't like and therefore take that into account for my own video so I don't make the same mistakes and can also embellish the aspects people did like and take inspiration from them when filming my own video.
